I improve/change my own art (and by art I mean visual and music) by observing other artists’ work in it’s simplest form and then in it’s completed form. It’s sometimes difficult to find sources to view things like this, but when I do I suck it all up and file it away to build my own creativity off of.
Is this stealing? No! Creativity is nothing if not influenced by the world around us! How do you think some of the most famous artists of all time learned their craft? They were taught or they observed and build off of their observations (which in my opinion is the same thing as teaching only manifested differently whatevs).
So, yes, I take bits and pieces from people I admire and put them all together and then BUILD MY OWN around that to create what I do.
And I’m proud of that.
